THE BACKSTORY:
Sten Pittet, an ex-Atlassian product manager, saw the pain of keeping teams aligned on goals especially in remote environments.
Traditional OKR(Objectives and Key Results), tools were overcomplicated, check-ins became meetings, and nobody wanted to update anything.
So in 2020, with Bryan Schuldt they built Tability, a lightweight, async-first tool to help teams set and track goals without disrupting workflows.
THE PRODUCT:
Tability helps teams track goals and OKRs asynchronously without the need for meetings or micromanagement.
Why use it?
Traditional OKR tools are built for enterprise complexity. Tability is built for speed, simplicity, and async culture.
Teams stay aligned without endless status meetings.
Who uses it?
Remote startups, async teams, agencies, and even individual founders.
Used by teams at Buffer, Mixpanel, and Y Combinator startups.
How to use it?
Set your quarterly goals (OKRs) → Add check-ins weekly (takes 2 mins) → Track progress → Stay aligned across the team.
It even nudges you via Slack when updates are due.
THE GROWTH STRATEGY:
→Niche-first: Targeted remote-first teams and async orgs.
