THE BACKSTORY:
In 2014, Justin Jackson and Jon Buda met at a XOXO festival.
Justin was a marketer with years of podcasting experience.
Jon was a developer who had built a podcast hosting tool at Cards Against Humanity.
In 2017, they reconnected.
Jon said, "I'm thinking of spinning off the podcast platform I built."
Justin replied, "If you're serious, I'm in."
They saw that the market was full of clunky, overpriced tools that weren't serving creators well.
So they built something better focusing on simplicity, scalability, and solid analytics.
By mid-2018, Transistor.fm was live.
